Tips and Tricks for keeping your Berg Trek Versa Cooler Bag colder for longer

  1. Precool

Make sure the cooler is cool before you pack your drinks. Try plan ahead and store the cooler indoors or add some ice to cool the cooler prior to adding drinks/snacks. Try adding some ice-blocks to the bottom of your cooler, this will keep everything colder for longer. Don’t start the journey having a warm cooler. Also make sure all items are cold/cool when you add them to your cooler.

2. Keep it Tight
Make sure to keep the airtight zip tight. Firstly to prevent any leakage, and secondly to prevent any warmth getting into the cooler. Don’t open the zip unnecessarily.

3. Layer it Up

The optimal way to pack the cooler is layering items. Cold packs on the bottom, then chilled items and then another layer of cold packs.

4. More the Better
The more ice the better. Our coolers are very well insulated, helping to keep the ice for longer. The bigger the blocks, the longer they will last. Air pockets will cause ice to melt faster so if there’s space in your cooler you can fill it with soft items or extra cold packs.

5. Find the Shade
Keep your cooler in the shade. Even with our superior insulation, being in direct sunlight is going to impact the insulation period.

6. The Right Type of Cool

Cold ice packs or large ice bricks will hold the cold for longer so if you want to increase the duration of the cold temperature these are preferred. Loose ice will fill gaps better, but melting will occur and so is best used when the items are sealed beverages.
